Educational Qualification :-
The Candidate must have passed 10th Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
Age Limit :
18-27 Years as on 01-01-2023 However Age relaxation is NOT available to Civic Volunteers(C.V).

SC/ST Candidate : 05 years
OBC Candidate : 03 years

Pay Scale:
Constables (Male) in WBP and Kolkata Police in the Pay Scale of Rs. 5,400 - 25,200/- (i.e. Pay Band-2) + Grade Pay Rs.
2,600/-.
Assistant Commissioner (Technical)
Age : Up to 35 years (Relaxable at the discretion of P.S.C., W.B.)
Qualification : A degree in Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering of a recognized University or Institute or equivalent qualification.
Selection : Written Test and Interview.
General Responsibilities : Supervision of all technical matters related with communication & maintenance, as well as administrative works related with Wireless Branch.
Sponsorship : Through open advertisement.
Pay : PB-4A Rs. 15600/---------- 42000/- + Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-
Inspector (Technical)
Age : 20-27 years (upper age limit relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and by 3 years for O.B.C. candidates)
Qualification : First / High Second Class B. Tech degree in Radio Physics & Electronics from a recognized University / Institute or its equivalent.

ii) Theoretical knowledge of Radio Communication Engineering
iii) At least Two Years practical experience of repairing low power
transmitters & receivers, preference will be given on V.H.F. Tx. & Rx.

Selection : Interview and Technical ability test
General Responsibilities : Responsible for proper working of Wireless Communication, Polnet System &
Telemax System

Constable
Age : Must be a Citizen of India, not less than 18 years and not more than 27 years on the 1st day of January of the year of advertisement {upper age limit relaxable by 05 (five) years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates and 03 (three) years for the candidates of Other Backward Classes}. The upper age limit of Ex-Servicemen and Home Guards Candidates may be relaxed as per Government Orders.
Minimum Educational Qualification : Passed the Madhyamik Examination from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
Physical Measurement :Candidates of all categories (except Gorkhas, Garhwali's, Rajbangsi's and
Scheduled Tribes): Minimum Height 167 cm, Chest: 78 CMSs with expansion 05 cm (78 cm & 83 CMSs after expansions) Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
Gorkhas, Garhwali's, Rajbangsi's and Scheduled Tribes : Minimum Height 160 cm, Chest: 76 CMSs with expansion 05 cm (76 cm & 81 CMSs after expansions) Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
Physical Efficiency Test : The Candidates possessing the qualification as prescribed in above stated will have to pass the following Physical Efficiency Test: Long distance run 1600
meters (Qualifying time is 06 minutes 30 seconds).
Selection : The candidates who qualify in the PMT and PET will be called for written examination followed by interview.
General Responsibilities : Patrolling duties, Traffic duties, Guarding vital installations, Escorting of prisoners, Maintenance of Law and Order etc. Prospects Promotion up to Inspector of Police.

Women Constable

Selection PMT and interview : General Responsibilities To Assist Wireless Supervisors and other technical officers for technical
works regarding maintenance & repairing of wireless equipment's, instruments and networks.

Selection Process:-
A. Preliminary Written Test:-
Applicants provisionally considered eligible will have to appear in an MCQ based preliminary written test
which is qualifying in nature. There would be 100 objective type questions having multiple choice (four
choices) of answers carrying equal marks each. The duration of this test will be 1(one) hour. Question paper
will be set in two languages (Bengali & Nepali). Questions of the Preliminary Written Test shall be from
the following subjects :-
i. General Awareness and General Knowledge : 50 Marks
ii. Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) : 30 Marks
iii. Reasoning : 20 Marks
*There will be NEGATIVE marking for each wrong answer. ¼th of the allotted marks for a particular question will be
deducted for each wrong answer.
B. PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT TEST (PMT) :-
The physical standards (height and weight) of the candidates as given under will be tested by using
Electronic Machines of those who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test.
C. PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET) :-
Candidates who qualify in PMT will be allowed to take part in PET which consists of 1600 meters run within 06 minutes 30 seconds.
* I. Timing of an individual runner shall be taken with the help of Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID)
technology. Only one chance will be given for Physical Efficiency Test. The venues for PMT & PET will be
decided by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board, in due course.
II. PMT & PET are qualifying in nature.
